BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance starts 2021 ‘Green Leader Programme’ by making upcycling flowerpots
BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance announces that it expanded the beneficiaries of ‘Green Leader Programme’ to Seoul National School for the Deaf, and conducted a non-face-to-face volunteer activity with making upcycling flowerpots. The ‘Green Leader Programme’, a company’s long-term CSR initiative continued in collaboration with NGO ‘Forest for Life’ since 2011, aims to contribute to creating sustainable communities by expanding green space in the urban areas and providing environmental education programmes.
The first activity of ‘Green Leader Programme’ this year was carried out through non-face-to-face collaboration considering the current Covid-19 situation. Employee volunteers of BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance recreated unused mugs into flowerpots, and then students at Seoul National School for the Deaf filled them with soil and planted spring flowers in order to practice upcycling in their daily lives while reflecting the importance of nature and protecting the environment.
Jonathan Oh, the President and CEO of BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance, said, “Under the prolonged Covid-19 situation, proceeding with face-to-face activities became somewhat limited, but we will find alternatives so that all participants will be able to share a close bond each other despite of physical distancing, like upcycling flowerpot production activities held this time.”
2021 Green Leader Programme will be operated for Seoul National School for the Blind and Seoul National School for the Deaf which are existing and newly designated social welfare facility respectively. Starting from this activity, BNP Paribas Cardif Life Insurance will further expand a green space in each facility, and conduct various forest experience programmes for the students in the future.
